My favorite skaters
|
|
My favorites men skaters |
|
Alexei Yagudin (Russia)
The Czar of the Figure Skating. For me he is the best of all the
skaters. Besides his great talent, he stays human, shows his feelings
in competition. Many programs marked me like Gladiator, and
more particularly the exhibition version. There are also the two
Olympic programs, Winter (short) and The Man in the Iron
Mask (free).
|
|
Kurt Browning (Canada)
Unfortunately, I only know his professional career, but he is
an immense skater. His steps are fantastic and his programs are
amazing. Many of his programs are masterpieces, in particular Tango,
I did it, and Clown Number.
|
|
Alexander Abt (Russia)
I have a weakness for him! He hasn't same career as both precedents,
but I like see him skating! I persist to say that he was inequitably
stolen from the European title in 2002. I love his version of the
Mask of Zorro.
|
|
Stéphane Lambiel (Switzerland)
He is a very graceful skater and gives a lot of emotion in his
interpretation. He manages to make me like the classical music!
I like his performance in Four Seasons of Vivaldi (free 2006).
|
|
Philippe Candeloro (France)
It is thanks to him that I discovered the figure skating. He always
knew how to choose good programs. I like when the skaters choose
to interpret a character rather than to content with skating on
classical music. My favorite program? D'Artagnan, of course!
|
| My
actual favorite men skaters |
|
Daisuke Takahashi (Japan)
He works the interpretation of his programs a lot. He always succeeds
in revisiting the themes that we have already seen thousands of
times to make them unique. Furthermore he has a completely removed
look and great dresses! Unfortunately, he is unstable in his performances.
|
|
Brian Joubert (France)
From the beginning, he knew how to confront the biggest skaters.
Furthermore, he has an athletic skating that I apreciate a lot.
And what a prize list! I like his program of Matrix (free
2004) and Apocaliptica (free 2007).
|
|
My favorite women skaters |
|
Maria Butyrskaya (Russia)
For me, she represents the elegance. Even if she is not irreproachable
on the technical plan, her programs are always very beautiful to
see. I find wonderful her interpretation of Carmen.
|
Sacha Cohen (United-States)
This skater has a rather particular career because even if she
has never obtained big international titles, everybody remembers
her. She is very small but we see only her on the ice. I appreciate
especially her eyes when she skates.
|
|
My actual favorite women skaters |
|
Yu-Na Kim (Korea)
I find that Yu-Na is femininity incarnate. She is very graceful
without needing to make it tons with the mimes. All she do seems
to be so easy!
|
|
My favorite couples skaters |
|
Jamie Sale and David Pelletier (Canada)
I need time to appreciate this couple. But when I see him in
professional's competition, I change my opinion! I regret them a
lot! What I appreciate the most, is is their complicity. They are
always very innovative in their programs.
|
|
Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao (China)
I always have gooseflesh when I see them skating. The most beautiful
program of skating is free 2003 with Puccini program. The
public got up before the end of their performance. Furthermore they
have a very long career and an great regularity. Their return in
the competition in 2010 for Olympics was the highlight of the competition
of couples. With them, we oly see before a man and a woman who skate
together and not two athletes.
|
|
Sarah Abitbol and Stéphane Bernadis (France)
Our biggest couple of every time. They make everything to make pleasure
for the public. They miss in the amateur skating a lot. I liked
their free program on The Family Adam ( 2002-2003 ).
|
|
My actual favorite couples skaters |
|
Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy (Germany)
The most contemporary of all the actual couples, with the composition
of programs, them their dress. The only criticism I can make to
them is that sometimes they look too studious in their programs.
|
Tatiana Volosozhar and
Maxim Trankov (Russia)
I always found it's a pity that Tatiana Volosozhar has no partner
as high as her talent when she skated with Stanislas Morozov, but
since she is with Maxim Trankov, it is the revelation, for her and
for him. A very promising couple. |
|
My favorite ice dancers |
|
Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski (Bulgaria)
For me, it is the biggest couple of dance, even if the judges haven't
the same opinion. They symbolize the originality, the elegance,
the beauty. They have a personal style. Many of their program are
engraved in my memory. The most beautiful of all for me is One
the Heaven (2004) where they skate dressed in white with a scarf
on eyes. They look like two angels. Another moment which marked
me is when they skated an exhibition without music and we just heard
the noise of their blades.
|
|
Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat (France)
They are so different, a fantastic couple, very different from each
other but very close on ice. The Olympic free program (Liberta)
was a pure marvel. The good choise of programs for this kind of
competition! Their free of 2000 on Carmina Burana when they
became world champions was also amazing. They have program with
a good construction and without too melodramatic expression that
we see too often with the dancer's.
|
|
Sinead Kerr and John Kerr (Great-Bretagne)
They symbolize the modernity in ice dance. Their program are always
very popular. My favorite program is their free of 2009 on Muse.
I also like their original dance on the Scottish music.
|
|
My actual favorite ice dancers |
|
Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat (France)
Their choice of programs and their tunics are always very popular.
They don't play on the side "glitter" which we find too Four
seasons. That was a real shock. It is at that time that
they really began to mark the mind for me.
